Darts Corner has the ultimate Michael van Gerwen darts collection, bringing together darts equipment inspired by one of the most successful players of the modern era and one of the greatest players of all time.
Designed around “Mighty Mike’s” throwing style, the range includes precision tungsten darts built to offer a secure grip, balanced feel and reliable control.
If you’re looking to throw like “The Green Machine”, or simply want equipment developed for top-level performance, you’ll find plenty of options to sharpen your game with Darts Corner.
Whether you call him “The Green Machine”, “Mighty Mike” or simply by his initials MVG, Michael van Gerwen is one of the most famous darts players today, and of all time. He’s known for his big “booyah” roar celebrations and rapid-fire throwing style, which brought in the new style of throwing you see used by many professionals in the modern game today.
Darts Corner has a range of MVG signature darts, such as the Evo X, Exact, Aspire and more, plus matching Fusion flights and storage. This collection provides everything you need to create a Michael van Gerwen, parallel-barrel-based setup. From accessible player-branded options to near-identical darts fit for any professional, Darts Corner has you covered.
Michael van Gerwen’s current match darts are the Winmau MVG Signature Edition darts. They are the first release of his tour-spec darts and are the exact specification he throws on the professional circuit. The darts are built from 90% tungsten in a parallel barrel profile with shot blast coating and atom grip, fitted with Winmau Switch Point technology, allowing players to match MVG’s setup without being locked into a single point style.
Michael van Gerwen began playing darts when he was just 13 years old, with his talent quickly becoming evident. Aged just 17, he defeated Martin Adams to win the 2006 World Masters, becoming the youngest player in history to do so. He then joined the PDC circuit the following year before making his breakthrough by winning the 2012 World Grand Prix.
Since then, “Mighty Mike” has established himself as one of the most successful darts players in history, winning the PDC World Championship three times, six World Grand Prix titles and three World Matchplay crowns.
His success has been reported to have generated upwards of £12 million in prize money.
The complete Michael van Gerwen collection is built around parallel barrels, with the main differences coming from grip intensities, finishes and how closely each model follows MVG’s actual tour setup.
If you’re looking for darts with plenty of feedback, the MVG Evo X is a good choice because of its heavy grip pattern. With 90% tungsten, you’ll get a centre-weighted parallel dart as well as the high grip, so your throw can feel more controlled.
Michael van Gerwen’s current tour-spec dart is the Signature Edition Switch Point. These darts have a parallel barrel shape with a textured atom grip, just how MVG likes them. They’re great if you’d like to recreate his current setup.
With round grooves and a medium grip level, the MVG Exact uses a 90% tungsten parallel barrel. These darts feel softer than the more textured surfaces on other models, giving you a more traditional throwing feel.
For a more affordable option, the MVG Aspire has the same player branding and signature barrel shape, but a lower tungsten content and lighter grip.
With the MVG Fusion, the shaft and flight are one piece. That way, the number of separate components is reduced and the flight alignment can stay consistent.
The MVG Armor Case is the best way to store your playing set and keep it safe from wear and tear. It’s also useful when travelling to leagues and tournaments.
When it comes to best moments and nine-darters, there are a lot to choose from, as MVG has produced some of the most memorable moments in professional darts history thanks to his scoring power, speed and clinical finishing.
His standout career moment came at just 24 years old, winning his first PDC World Championship by defeating Peter Wright 7-4 in the 2014 final at Alexandra Palace. It made him the youngest PDC world champion at the time and took him to number one in the world rankings.
As for nine-darters, few moments compare with his match against James Wade at the 2013 PDC World Championship. Van Gerwen not only completed a nine-darter, but he also opened the very next leg with another eight perfect darts, narrowly missing double 12 for what would have been back-to-back nine-darters. This is the closest any player has come to hitting back-to-back nine-darters at a televised event.
Michael van Gerwen is from Boxtel, Netherlands, and currently lives in Vlijmen, North Brabant, Netherlands.
Copying the exact finger position is less useful for developing a successful throwing style than finding a repeatable reference point on the barrel and keeping your grip pressure consistent. Michael van Gerwen chooses darts with a straight parallel barrel, so if you want a similar feel, start with a model that gives you a clear grip zone without forcing your fingers into a particular shape or position.
Michael van Gerwen is a well-known fan of Dutch club PSV Eindhoven and frequently visits the Philips Stadion. He’s paraded his PDC World Darts Championship trophies on the pitch at PSV matches in the past, and fans have been known to chant his name to his signature walk-on music, “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes.
